A lot has been happening the last few weeks at Daulton. The MISD topic of the month is kindness. One way we have been able to foster kindness at Daulton is by participating in the Toys for Tots drive. As a campus we were able to donate 379 toys. What an awesome gesture of kindness to be able to do for our community!
Kindness was also the topic of guidance lessons last week. Fourth graders learned about The Homeless Christmas Tree, which is an actual tree located on I-30. We discussed finding ways to do kind acts and then created an ornament or note to use in a kind way. Third grade discussed random acts of kindness. Students were encourage to brainstorm ways to be kind at Daulton and outside of school. They then created a random acts of kindness foldable. Every grade did a guidance lesson that addressed kindness.
